The Sleeping Garden imagines winter not as emptiness, but as life held in suspension. Cobalt, turquoise, and gold gather into a dense, nocturnal pattern in which dormant plants seem to shimmer beneath the surface. The painting carries the atmosphere of a walled Chinese garden after dark: beautiful, enclosed, and touched by solitude—as though a lone figure were awake inside while the compound slept.
