The Turning

The Turning occupies the hinge between abundance and retreat. Fruit, vegetables, flowers, and curling vines gather across a russet field, their repetitions suggesting both harvest and the first signs of withdrawal. The title quietly echoes the I Ching, in which turning is not simply an ending but a return: change already carrying the beginning of another cycle. Here, autumn is less a season of decline than a shift in direction. The garden remains exuberant, but its colours have deepened and its energy has begun to move inward.
